Calling all PharmDawgs!

Mark your calendars—Dawg Day of Giving is Thursday, March 27!

This is your chance to help a PharmDawg’s career take off! By donating to the Pharmacy Student Travel Award Fund, you’ll open doors for pharmacy students to network with industry professionals, explore career paths, and represent the University of Georgia at state and national conferences. Know someone who’d love to support students? Spread the word and get them in on the giving spirit!

“I believe it’s crucial for students to travel to professional meetings and network with others,” said Nicole Metzger, PharmD ‘06, who is a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Mercer University in Macon. “With limited funds, support from the College is instrumental in making these experiences possible. I hope students have the opportunity to embark on meaningful adventures, make valuable connections, and enjoy the journey.”

John Langford, BSPH ‘77, whose career abroad is portrayed in another story in this e-magazine (see here), remarked, “I give to the Pharmacy Student Travel Award Fund, because I know firsthand how transformative new experiences can be. These opportunities expand a student’s perspective and build the confidence to take on challenges they never imagined possible. By supporting this fund, we’re ensuring that more students gain the skills, connections, and inspiration that will shape their future in pharmacy. I hope others will join me in making these experiences possible.

Hear from several PharmDawgs about how college-supported travel is shaping their education, strengthening their professional networks, and inspiring them to become leaders in their fields.
