Dr. Andrew Darley Appointed Director of Professional Education

Dr. Andrew Darley, Associate Director of Health System Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences, has assumed an additional title: Director of Professional Education at the College of Pharmacy, effective May 1.

In this added capacity, Dr. Darley will serve as the official Academic Program Coordinator (defined by the UGA Academic Affairs policy 2.04) for the College’s Pharm.D. program. Specifically, he will focus on leading and managing the program’s curricular philosophy, pedagogy, and delivery. The Office of Student Affairs will continue to oversee operational elements, including admissions and matriculation, student advising, course and classroom scheduling, academic calendar planning, student progression monitoring, student success, and career development.

A native of Toombs County and a 2012 alumnus of the College’s Pharm.D. program, Dr. Darley received his Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration in 2020 from Georgia Southern University.  He has been a faculty member of Experience Programs since 2014.  During his tenure at the College, Dr. Darley has served in several institutional service roles, including the Pharm.D. Curriculum Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee, and the Academic Operations Committee. He is serving in his second term as Chair of Faculty Council. Dr. Darley is active in professional organizations, having served as a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Experiential Education Section Strategic Planning Task Force, a member of the Southeastern Pharmacy Experiential Education Consortium, Northeast Georgia District Director and UGA Faculty Representative of the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP), and faculty advisor to the UGA GSHP student chapter. Dr. Darley most recently received the 2021 UGA Student Organization Achievement and Recognition Advisor of the Year Award for UGA, which has more than 800 student groups on campus.
