Dr. Naveed Tharwani is a UGA 40 Under 40

Dr. Naveed Tharwani ‘11 recently was recognized as a UGA 40 Under 40 recipient at the program’s annual celebration luncheon held September 6 on campus.

Dr. Tharwani is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of SynerGrx, a top 10 Bulldog 100 business based in Chamblee, GA. Established in 2018, SynerGrx provides innovative solutions to medical practices seeking to integrate on-site clinical pharmacists. Through his company, he optimizes the impact of pharmacists in outpatient clinics, addressing reimbursement challenges and enhancing chronic care management service – with the ultimate goal of improving patient care outcomes. Dr. Tharwani uses continuous education practices and innovative software development to empower his organization.  

Committed to giving back to his alma mater, Dr Tharwani is a frequent guest lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, specifically teaching courses in entrepreneurship. In addition, he is a supporter of the Pharmacy Enhancement Fund.

The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy played a pivotal role in shaping my career and fueling my passion for integrating clinical pharmacists into medical practices. The education, mentorship, and opportunities I received at UGA have been instrumental in my journey to establish SynerGrx and to make a meaningful impact on patient care. I am deeply grateful for the foundation UGA provided, and I am committed to giving back and helping future pharmacists realize their potential.”

He added, “​​As a first-generation American, I am especially grateful for the support and sacrifices of my family, who have been foundational to my success. Outside of work, I find joy in traveling and grilling, activities that allow me to connect with loved ones and explore new cultures and flavors. These hobbies provide a balance to my professional life and keep me grounded.”

UGA’s 40 Under 40 program celebrates the personal, professional, and philanthropic achievements of 40 successful alumni under the age of 40. Along with Dr. Tharwani, this year’s group of 40 Under 40 young alumni included a deputy national intelligence officer, a senior entertainment writer for Variety, an AI innovator at Microsoft, and others.
