Trina von Waldner, BPharm, PharmD, RPh
Trina von Waldner received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1986 and doctor of Pharmacy in 2001. She practiced hospital pharmacy for 15 years before accepting a position with public health as director of pharmacy and emergency preparedness where she led pandemic influenza planning for 16 counties. Dr. von Waldner was appointed to the faculty of the UGA College of Pharmacy in July of 2007 and serves as the Director of Continuing Professional Development and Outreach. She is responsible for development and tracking of co-curricular activities for pharmacy students, and development and delivery of continuing education programs for pharmacists, technicians and other health professionals. Dr. von Waldner identifies, designs and implements professional development and outreach experiences for student pharmacists, including the Farm Worker Family Health Program. She teaches required and elective pharmacy courses, and serves as preceptor for IPPE and APPE. Her research areas include public health and disaster preparedness, outreach to underserved populations and continuing professional development for practicing and student pharmacists. Dr. von Waldner teaches Basic Disaster Life Support and Advanced Disaster Life Support for the Georgia Health Sciences University Center for Operational Medicine. She is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, American Public Health Association, Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the Georgia 3 Federal Disaster Medical Assistance Team.
