PharmDawg Valentine Story is a Prescription for Love

Bayard Taylor II and Zoe Krenz

On October 4, 2025, overlooking a picturesque lake in Athens, Bayard Taylor II dropped to one knee, looked up at his beloved Zoe Krenz, and asked her to be his Valentine forever. No surprise to anyone who knows the PharmDawg couple—Zoe quickly said, “Yes!”

It wasn’t just the sweetness of the proposal that makes you dreamingly exclaim, “Awww!” It was the way that Bayard, a P4 from Ellerslie, GA, went about his unique and heartfelt proposal. Capturing on the theme of their relationship, which bloomed their first year at the College of Pharmacy and grew during their journey through the rigor of a PharmD education, Bayard pulled out all the stops to make the grand gesture memorable, complete with a prescription proposal and custom-made pill bottle with directions for a happy life. “His proposal was everything I ever dreamed of,” said Zoe, a fellow P4 student from Martinez, GA. “It was thoughtful, well-planned, and incredibly sentimental. It is a moment I will never forget, and I am very happy to spend the rest of my life with Bayard!”

Destiny played a hand in this PharmDawg relationship.  Zoe and Bayard entered the College of Pharmacy in August 2022 as P1 students and were quickly assigned to the same recitation group. However, the two didn’t really meet until the next semester. Explained Bayard, “We didn’t know each other at all until January of P1 year. We were friends for a couple of months and then our relationship changed during finals week. Fast forward, and our third-year anniversary will be in April!”

The two have had to experience the challenges of a long-distance relationship. Spending their first two years of pharmacy school in Athens, they were assigned to different extended campuses for their third and fourth years. Bayard is based on the campus in Albany, while Zoe has spent her P3 and P4 years in Augusta. As they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder, and the two have made their relationship work beautifully.

No date for the walk down the aisle has been set, because the two are focused on residencies!  Their plans are to secure their post education location together; Zoe is interested in academia, ambulatory care, and internal medicine, while Bayard is focused on critical care, infectious disease, and other areas of pharmacy. “We both have long term goals of being clinical professors,” said Zoe.

While the two are committed to their professional education and training, along with their future careers in clinical pharmacy, Zoe and Bayard obviously enjoy the whimsey of a loving, committed relationship. To celebrate their engagement, the two dined at the popular ZZ & Simone’s in Athens and then left the next day for Disney World! Together in work and play, Zoe and Bayard have written a prescription for love that will last a lifetime.
