Dr. Michael Welton, a UGA postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and the College of Public Health, joins PharmCast for the Community to remind us how a virus works and possibly what we may be facing in the months ahead as we reopen Georgia. Dr. Welton also will discuss why we needed to flatten the curve and exactly what this time has bought us as we await the surge of the disease. His background in researching the Zika virus and how it impacted communities places him in a unique position to discuss SARS-CoV-2’s proposed activity in the coming months.
