UGA Pharmacy to Represent at the 2026 GPhA Convention

Planning to attend the Georgia Pharmacy Association Convention June 18-21 at the Omni Amelia Island Resort in Florida? If so, you’ll recognize a large contingent of PharmDawgs at the meeting!

A highlight of the event will be the annual UGA College of Pharmacy Alumni & Friends Reception, which will be held Thursday, June 18th, from 6-7:00 pm at the Amelia Foyer & 8 Flags Patio at the Omni Resort. Alumni, faculty, staff, and students are invited to connect and reconnect with fellow colleagues at this special gathering. Click here to register by Wednesday, June 10th at 5 pm. Contact Roslyn Raley, Associate with the College’s Development and Alumni Relations Office, with any questions or concerns.  The Alumni & Friends Reception will be sponsored by Kroger Health.

Along with the reception, several College of Pharmacy faculty members will serve as speakers at the four-day convention. PharmDawg presenters will include Dr. Jordan Khail, Lecturer in Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy, who will provide the “2026 Pharmacy Law Update”; Dr. Michael Fulford, Assistant Dean for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Initiatives and Director of Faculty Affairs, and Dr. Robin Southwood, Clinical Associate Professor, who will present “Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Pharmacy Practice and Educational Settings”; Dr. Devin Lavendar, Clinical Assistant Professor, who will represent the Ambulatory Care Collaborative in the Exhibit Hall; Dr. Rusty May, Clinical Professor at the extended campus in Augusta, who will address “2026 New Drug Update Using a Formulary Approach”; and Dr. Rebecca Stone, Clinical Professor, who will discuss “Expanding Women’s Health Services in Community Pharmacy”. Besides the educational offerings, there will be plenty of programs specifically for students. For a comprehensive list of programs and events focused on College of Pharmacy involvement,  see here.

The 2026 GPhA Convention will bring together hardworking pharmacists, pharmacy owners, students, and decision makers looking to expand their knowledge and improve their practice of pharmacy during four days of continuing education, an expansive exhibit hall, and networking with fellow pharmacy professionals.
