Lauren Dempsey is a PhD student in the Pharmaceutical Health Services, Outcomes and Policy program in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy. Prior to pursuing her PhD, she completed a Presidential Management Fellowship with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She currently continues her work at the CDC as a Public Health Analyst in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. She received her Master of Science in Public Health degree (Epidemiology) at Emory University and her Bachelor of Science degree (Biology) at UGA. She is currently working with Dr. Susan Smith on projects related to sepsis and other patient outcomes in Intensive Care Units. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, singing in choirs, watching theatre, and wildlife photography.
