Dana Ricks has joined the Office of Student Affairs as the new Administrative Manager, announced Dr. Duc Do, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Dana’s newly restructured role follows the retirement of Gloria Strait.
With more than 12 years of experience at UGA, Dana will provide administrative and project support to Dr. Do, oversee student events, and manage day-to-day operations of the OSA. Prior to joining the College, she served in a similar capacity at UGA’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. In addition, she previously served as a high school agricultural education teacher and as a manager for a local farm. A long-time member and supporter of the Bulldog Nation, Dana is an alumnus of UGA, earning a Master of Education in Agricultural Education and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science.
“Dana has earned a strong reputation for leadership, organizational effectiveness, and operational efficiency,” said Dr. Do. “We look forward to the contributions and impact she will make at this College, on the OSA team, and most especially with our students.”
A native of Hawkinsville, GA, Dana enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, co-ed softball, working out, and making memories with family and friends. She is the mother of two young adult sons, and a German Shorthair Pointer named Riley. Her office is located in Pharmacy South 222E (formerly occupied by Ms. Strait), and her email is [email protected]. “I’m very excited to be here, and I look forward to getting to know everyone,” she remarked.
