1966

Roy L. Chapman Jr., BS Pharm ’66 shared an update about his career in medicine. Earning a pharmacy degree before attending medical school at the University of Tennessee, he completed his residency and fellowship in anesthesiology at the University of Florida. He practiced as an anesthesiologist for 44 years. He and his wife have been married for 55 years, with two sons and four grandsons.

1967

Robert B. Martin, IV, BS Pharm ’67 provided an update about his life after pharmacy school.  He served 13 months in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division after being drafted in the fall of 1968. Using the GI Bill, he earned a PharmD from the Southern School of Pharmacy (Mercer University) and later taught there for two years. Dr. Martin then became Director of Pharmacy at Baptist Medical Center in Gadsden, AL, for eight years while earning an MBA from Jacksonville State University. He went on to a 16-year career with Abbott Laboratories, managing Midwestern and Southeastern Home Infusion Pharmacies for 12 years. He later served as a a Project Manager for four years, developing and marketing a pharmacokinetics software application for clients in the U.S. and Europe. After taking early retirement at age 55, Dr. Martin moved to Texas in 1999 and worked part-time as a clinical consultant at Nacogdoches Medical Center for 12 years. Now,  he volunteers three days a week at the Chamber of Commerce and serves on the boards of the Nacogdoches (TX) Convention and Visitors Bureau and Community Rx Help, a nonprofit that assists individuals in obtaining low- or no-cost prescription medications.

James F. Palmer, BS Pharm ’67 continues to stay involved in the profession, working part-time at Crowley Drug. He previously owned and operated his own pharmacy for many years.

Ronald S. Reagin, BS Pharm ’67 worked in private pharmacy from 1967 to 1976 before opening Ronald Reagin’s Pharmacy in Baxley, GA, which he operated until 1984. After selling the pharmacy, he pursued a new path, earning a degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine’s Podiatric School in 1988. Following a residency in Tampa, FL, he established a successful podiatry practice in Baxley, Hazlehurst, and Jesup, GA, where he served patients for 31 years before retiring at age 76. Reflecting on his career, he credits pharmacy for opening new opportunities and continues to hold a deep appreciation for both professions.

1969

Kenneth Julius White, BS Pharm ’69 donated more than 1,000 fossils to the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville and fossil sediment to Georgia State University’s Paleontology Department. He also assembled one of the largest seashell collections in Georgia, a result of 53 years of dedicated collecting.

1971

Daniel Lee Redden, BS Pharm ’71 has practiced pharmacy for 52 years and continues to be active in the field. His family has a deep connection to the Georgia Bulldog Club of Jacksonville, where he served as president in 1979, and his son, Billy, followed in his footsteps as president in 2022.

1973

Michael L. Adams, PharmD ’73 reflected on his impressive career in pharmacy, starting his internship at Dekalb Medical Center and co-founding Winn Way Pharmacy & Medical Supply with Ed Shaw. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to patient care have had a lasting impact, and he now is enjoying a well-earned retirement.

Stewart McElwaney, BS Pharm ‘77 has retired—wishing him all the best in this chapter.

Anna Rauch Cohen, BS Pharm ’82 has retired—wishing her all the best in this chapter.

1986

Charles (Chuck) Page, BS Pharm ’86 recently completed a term as President of the Georgia Board of Pharmacy, an honor recognizing his leadership and dedication to the profession.

1990

Terrilynn Beck, BS Pharm ’90 lives in Destin, FL, and works full-time with Emerald Coast Infectious Disease Group at Synergy Pharmacy in Fort Walton Beach. She enjoys keeping up with Rabun County High School football and UGA.

1990

James Gordon Elrod Sr., BS Pharm ’90 has owned Dart Drugs & Surgical in Dalton, GA for 31 years. He also owns a Convacare franchise at the same location, focusing on CPAP, BiPAP, home oxygen, and DME/HME. Additionally, he serves as the District 1-1 Pharmacist for the Cherokee District Health Department. He and his wife, Robbie, have two children, one who is a third-year pharmacy student at UGA, Gordon.

Kristine Lovett Leonard, BS Pharm ’91 has been a specialty pharmacy supervisor at Prisma Health since October 2021.

1993

Pamela Shrouder Haskins, BS Pharm ’93 has been named Pharmacy Manager at the Anita Stewart Oncology Center in Tifton, GA.

1994

Tara L. Smith, BS Pharm ’94 has taken on a new role at HCA HealthTrust as a subject matter expert (SME) for the EMR enhancement build. She also is an SME in pediatrics and recently published Updates in the treatment of asthma in pediatrics: A review for pharmacistsAmerican Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, Volume 81, Issue 9, 1 May 2024, Pages e210–e219.

1997

Melissa Chapman Frank, BS Pharm ’97, PharmD ’98 has been named interim administrator of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Lumpkin and Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham.

2004

Kelli Bass McCarty, PharmD ’04 is  co-owner of Madison Drug in downtown Madison, GA. The pharmacy continues to grow as a vital community resource, also housing Lollipops Grill and On Cloud Nine Boutique.

Brian Seagraves, PharmD ’04 has been named the 2025 William T. Robie III Inclusive Excellence Award recipient. This prestigious honor recognizes his dedication to fostering inclusivity and excellence within the profession.

2009

Robert Murry, PharmD ’09 was named the Director of Pharmacy at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Athens, a joint venture between Piedmont Healthcare and Encompass Health. Robert also serves as the President-Elect of the Georgia Pharmacy Association and will be sworn in as president of the association in June of 2025 at the annual GPhA Convention in Amelia Island.

Matt Brown, MS ’10 was named Vice President of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs and Mergers & Acquisitions at Henry Schein, Inc.

Lauren Biehle Gory, PharmD ’10 was named the 2024 Grand Winner for the Society of Infectious Diseases Infectious Diseases Pharmacists Day, recognizing her work in developing a stewardship-focused peer discussion series for rural and critical access hospitals.

Anthony C. Scott, PharmD ’10 was named Director of Pharmacy Operations and Account Management at Cardinal Health. He was recently elected as Chair Elect for the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders.

2011

Rafael Felippi, PharmD ’11 presented a poster oral presentation, Bi-Directional Texting for Better Outcomes: Enhancing Patient Safety and Satisfaction Beyond Hospital Walls, at the International Pharmacy Federation (FIP) 2024 World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa. Additionally, Dr. Felippi’s research paper, The Impact of Electronic Health Record Interventions on Patient Access to Post-Hospital Discharge Prescriptions, was recently published in Hospital Pharmacy.

Kevin Hatcher, PharmD ’11 (along with Justin Snider, PharmD ’15 and Thi Tran, PharmD ’15) was instrumental in the first-ever delivery of prescription drugs via drone in the United States, a collaboration between Walmart and Wing. This work was driven by the need to support communities affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.

2012

Khalil Khlifi, PharmD ’12 recently published Mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles for the treatment of acute rejection in pediatric and adult bowel transplant, American Journal of Transplantation, Volume 24, Issue 4, 2024, Pages 693-696.

Melissa Robinson, PharmD ’12 has authored a new children’s book, Grandma Marjorie and the Feathered Pirate. This delightful story brings adventure and imagination to young readers, celebrating the magic of storytelling and family bonds.

2013

Ansley A. Booker, MS ’13 has been named the inaugural Penny and Coulter R. Sublett 1982 Executive Director of Dartmouth NEXT, a university-wide initiative at Dartmouth College aimed at expanding opportunities for students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. 

Kristina Evans, PharmD ’13 currently is serving as Chair of the Adult Medicine Practice and Research Network of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

2014

Emily (Whitney) Foltz, PharmD ’14 joined the Office of Prescription Drug Promotion at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Emily Smith Garrett, PharmD ’14 has joined Grifols as a Medical Science Liaison.

Carlie Traylor, PharmD ’14 has been named Vice President of Pharmacy Retail Operations at McKesson.

James T. Fanning IV, PharmD ’15 is the Director of Pharmacy Solutions at Galt Pharmaceuticals

Kline Whitley, PharmD ’16 has joined the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy faculty as a lecturer in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy.

2020

Felix Okotete, PharmD, ‘20 is celebrating three years at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota since starting his first post-residency position.

Mohammed A. Sayed, PhD ’20 has been named Vice Chair of Pharmacology at DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.

 

2021

Jay Adams, PharmD ’21 has obtained board certification in clinical toxicology as a Diplomat of the American Board of Applied Toxicology (DABAT), a distinction held by only 150 non-physician toxicologists worldwide. 

Morgan Padron, PharmD ’21 has joined Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Pharmacist.

Ed Belocura, BSPS ’21 MS ‘22 started a new role as a Senior Strategy Analyst at Triangle Insights Group by Mercalis in Fall 2024. Triangle is a strategy consulting firm focused on engagements within the life science industry.2022

Aliya Abdulla, PharmD ’22 has completed a PGY2 in Critical Care at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center and has transitioned there into a full-time role as a Critical Care Pharmacist. She also earned Board Certification in Critical Care Pharmacy (BCCCP). Dr. Abdulla was awarded the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Critical Care Practice and Research Network Resident/Fellow Award and presented research at the SCCM Critical Care Congress in 2025.

Daniel Padron, PharmD ’22 recently completed a two-year residency in pharmacy administration and leadership at the University of Kansas Health System, earning a Master of Science in Pharmacy Administration. He has joined Huron Consulting Group as a Pharmacy Consultant, working with clients nationwide to identify clinical and financial optimization opportunities.

2023

Alexis Albert, PharmD ’23 is completing an Ambulatory Care PGY2 in Washington State and practicing as a prescribing provider.

Chandler S. Allen, PharmD ’23 is a PGY2 resident at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. 

Caitlin (Catie) Williams, PharmD ’23 has been appointed to the 2024-2025 ASHP New Practitioner’s Forum Resident Advancement Advisory Group, contributing to the growth and development of new practitioners.

2024

Matthew S. Gatto, MS ’24 is pursuing a PhD. in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University.
