UGA PharmD Class of 2024 Achieves Top Results on MPJE and NAPLEX Exams

Outperforms State and National Trends

The PharmD Class of 2024 achieved remarkable results on the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) and the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX), demonstrating why the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy remains a premiere pharmacy school in the state and a nationally renowned location for academic excellence.

The 2024 UGA graduates who took the Georgia MPJE, a jurisprudence examination assessing understanding of both state and federal pharmacy law, achieved a 90% first-time pass rate, representing a significant 12.9% increase from the previous class. More than 11% higher than the national average, this first-time pass rate is the highest in the state by 10.9%.

On the NAPLEX, which assesses foundational and clinical pharmacy practice knowledge, the Class of 2024 achieved an 87.8% first-time pass rate. This is a 1.3% improvement from the previous year, surpasses the national average by 10.3%, and is highest in the state by 16.8%.

Dean Kelly Smith expressed pride in the College’s results, which were released by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy in late January. “These outstanding achievements underscore the dedication of our students and the exceptional teaching that our faculty provide every day, across all four of our campuses. It’s a testament to the rigorous educational and experiential training we provide. These successes further affirm why the UGA College of Pharmacy is a top choice for aspiring pharmacists.”

With these remarkable exam performances, the College remains one of the most highly ranked pharmacy schools in the country in examination results:

  • #1 in Georgia for both MPJE and NAPLEX first-time pass rates
  • #2 in the nation for increases in MPJE first-time pass rates among institutions with more than 100 graduates per class
  • #4 in the nation for NAPLEX first-time pass rates among Southeastern Conference pharmacy programs
  • #5 in the nation for NAPLEX first-time pass rates among public institutions with more than 100 graduates per class
  • #7 in the nation for NAPLEX first-time pass rates among all institutions with more than 100 graduates per class

In addition, the UGA College of Pharmacy is ranked 15th among 141 accredited pharmacy schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
