Dr. Henry N. Young’s “Fishers of Men” Featured in Georgia Magazine

Dr. Henry N. Young, Kroger Professor in the University of Georgia’s College of Pharmacy, was recently featured in the Summer 2023 Georgia Magazine for his work with the rural health initiative, Fishers of Men.

The goal of Fishers of Men is to create telehealth hubs at participating churches, with support from the UGA Archway Partnership. These hubs have widescreen TVs, computers, internet capabilities, and various other devices, such as scales, to facilitate medical appointments and educational seminars on health and managing chronic conditions.

With plans to implement a new branch of the program, the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program, Young continues to reduce the barriers of accessible healthcare and resources.
