Dr. Joshua Caballero Promoted to Position as CAP Associate Professor

Dr. Joshua Caballero has moved to a permanent position as an Associate Professor on tenure track in the Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy Department, announced Dr. Henry Young, Head of the Department.

“Dr. Caballero possesses the spirit, intellect, diligence, and passion of an outstanding teacher and mentor for our students,” said Dr. Young.  “Since joining us two years ago in a temporary capacity, he has become an integral part of our team.  We are pleased to offer him permanent status.”

Dr. Caballero focuses his scholarship and research on psychiatric disorders, HIV, digital health applications, adherence to health outcomes,  diabetes, and other chronic health issues.  Current courses he teaches focus on psychiatric disorders and U.S. healthcare systems, among others. He has several research papers in the works, including issues surrounding the side effects of psilocybin in psychiatric disorders, and the use of digital health to improve health outcomes in underserved patients.

“For many years, it has been my pursuit to work in a top-tier, research-focused institution,” said Dr. Caballero.  “I have had a great experience at the College since my arrival two years ago, and I am thrilled with this opportunity.  I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues here at the College and across the UGA campus to improve the lives of people with chronic health conditions.”
