Sean VanDuyse receives Hamilton Lokey Graduate Scholarship

Congratulations to MS student Sean VanDuyse for being selected for the Hamilton Lokey Graduate Scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year! The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize outstanding University of Georgia undergraduate students who wish to continue their educational studies by enrolling in a graduate program at UGA. Sean graduated Summa Cum Laude in the Spring of 2020 with his bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science and a minor in Biology from UGA, and is in his second year of the MS/BS Pharmaceutical Sciences program at the College of Pharmacy.

Sean has performed research under Dr. Bartlett since the Spring of 2019, with projects including the revision of Standards of Procedures so that they were compliant with current EU medical device regulations, the analysis of FDA warning letters and 483s issued by the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research and the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, and his current project, researching the impact of the Q10 Pharmaceutical Quality Systems guidance using data collected and provided by the University of St. Gallen OPEX data benchmarking initiative. Over the summer of 2020 he completed two online classes while also interning with Merck & Co. in the Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls Regulatory department. After graduation he would like to obtain a full-time job in the regulatory department of a pharmaceutical company or an inspection position with the FDA.
