Dr. Lindsey Welch Awarded UGA’s Advisor of the Year

For the second time in her PharmDawg career, Dr. Lindsey Welch, CoP’s APPE Director in Experience Programs, has received the H. Gordon and Francis S. Davis Advisor of the Year award from the Office of Engagement, Leadership and Service in UGA’s Division of Student Affairs.

Dr. Welch has served as Advisor for CoP’s American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists, the largest CoP student organization, for many years. A portion of the nomination submitted by the APhA-ASP membership reads, “Dr. Welch has gone above and beyond the standards for an APhA-ASP advisor, embodying the principles and characteristics of someone who truly wants to help our members grow individually and professionally. She is committed to the professional growth of APhA-ASP members and fostering the next generation of pharmacists. She is always willing to help develop our clinical judgment, advise on career goals and paths, guide our individual growth, and encourage us to challenge ourselves to reach our greatest capacity. Dr. Welch has acted as an inspiring leader and advisor, leaving lasting impressions upon ASP members, our organization, and the community we serve.”

The recognition is presented to the UGA advisor who significantly contributes to the overall experience of the student leaders within the organization they advise to include general support and guidance, assistance with planning and executing events and experiences, and exceeding expectations of the role. APhA-ASP is one of more than 700 registered organizations at UGA.
